Richard Evans been watching hockey since mid eighties Trafford Metros writing match programme from there to The Storm continued to contribute to the match night programme then later with son Darren ran the merchandise stall.Last season at the Arena was Phoenix debut. Only watched them twice at Alty just my opinion but standard was poor. So glad when Storm reformed got my mojo back.

I went to a couple of Storm games in the arena, but I was reasonably young and I don't think I was that interested at the time... I remember the seats, there being some ice and Frank Pierangelo and that's about it. I had a bit of an interest in the NHL during my mid-late teens and I used to watch it when it was on Channel 5 late at night. I properly got in to hockey after I moved to Manchester for University. My second year (2006-2007) was the year that Phoenix started playing out of Altrincham. I remember going to the first game in Alty where the seats were only completed on one or two sides. Went to see them reasonably regularly during the EIHL days. When I finished university they dropped to the EPL and I moved away for most of the season. When I moved back to Manchester I didn't go as much (a lot of my uni friends who I used to go with had moved away), but I was there when they won the league title which was pretty cool. I never got in to the EPL as much as the EIHL hockey, although it has been improving over the past couple of seasons. In 2011 I moved to London to start my PhD, and since then I've been watching a combination of Slough (when they were in the EPL), Haringey Racers, London Raiders, Lee Valley Lions and Guildford Flames (my brother has a season ticket but had to move away for work, so I went to quite a few games there last season). I've been getting my EIHL from the occasional visit to Coventry and watching a lot of webcasts! The return of EIHL hockey to Alty/Manchester has definitely got me back in the EIHL as I now have a (EIHL) team to support again (going as a neutral is not the same really). I followed from afar last season, watching webcasts etc as well as a couple of games (my brother & I have been going to the EIHL playoff weekend for the past 5 years or so now). I'm moving back to Manchester (city centre) at the end of August, just in time for the new season I'll probably get to as many games as I can at Alty, and fit in a few Phoenix games when they move to their new rink, which is about a 15/20 minute walk from my new place. The other 'Manchester' team I have seen is the Manchester Monarchs, who at the time were in the AHL (they've subsequently moved to the ECHL) who are one of the LA Kings farm teams. I went to Game 1 of the Calder Cup final in 2015 in Manchester, New Hampshire, they beat the Utica Comets (who had Jacob Markstrom in net) 2-1 in overtime and went on to win the Calder Cup.

Greetings i'm Peter and i will have watched Hockey for 21 years this upcoming November. I watched my first game in 1995 against the Telford Tigers at the old Nynex Arena and have been hooked ever since. I watched the Storm from 95-2001 on a regular basis and then once Terry Christensen became the coach, my parents stopped taking me and so i saw the odd game at the arena. When Storm folded i followed Phoenix and to this day i still support both, as i am in the small minority. I enjoy watching Manchester hockey whether it is Junior hockey, sledge hockey of which i help out a lot with and also the senior sides too.
Other teams i support are New York Rangers as growing up i only knew Gretzky and he was at NY, i also support the Chicago Blackhawks as i have a fondness for anything Chicago sports based (minus the White Soxs), European i support Eisbaren Berlin in the German DEL and also keep an out on TPS Turku as i knew a Finnish person who supported them and also we played them in the old EHL (European Hockey League days)

Hello Simon Harris here, I'm like Chris but miles better looking and I am a much better hockey player too, oh and I can handle my beer better, in fact I'm nothing like Chris which I suppose is a blessing. Anyway, supported Storm from the end of the first, first season up until their demise. Tried the Phoenix in their first year but they just weren't my team. Played ice and roller a bit, even appeared in an intro sequence for Phoenix pretending to be a player (but less said about that the better). Then I basically gave up on hockey until it was announced Storm were returning, which I'm pretty sure I wet myself with excitement (but that could just be a prostate problem) and now I'm rekindling my love of the sport and have even started to train again. I'm 6ft 2in, 95kg and my favourite dinosaur is Pete Dickinson. Think that covers everything.

Long time Storm fan from back in the day (some of the more surreal moments from last season included complete strangers walking up to me and telling me that "I remember you from the arena days!" - guess all those hours on the "Oil of Olay" must have paid off, and no, I wasn't the guy that used to headbang to "Song 2" (if it had been Motörhead I may have been tempted), but I digress...)
With the demise of the "original Storm", I satisfied my "Hockey fix" by lacing 'em up for a number of years (taking up the sport at an age where most players are looking at retirement) and followed at first Hull Thunder (for the remainder of that fateful season) and then Phoenix from day one through to their last season at Alty.
Returned to Storm for a number of personal reasons (some I'm willing to talk about, others I'm not) and can now be found at the back of Block 113 on match nights armed with a pair of drumsticks, singing badly and trying desperately to hit the skins in time to "We Will Rock You" (20-odd years of listening to "Thrash Metal" and the brain thinks that every piece of music should be faster than it actually is)
For my sins (of which I obviously have many), I follow my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs (don't laugh - I remember when they were a force to be reckoned with!), the Toronto Argonauts (Canadian football (similar to NFL)) and to a lesser extent the aforementioned Eisbaren Berlin (every Hockey fan needs to experience one of their home games!)

Dave Morris- went to watch Storm a few times back in the Arena days as a kid...went to see Phoenix once at Alty but didn't really get into it...when Storm reformed I went to a game on my own against Edinburgh then started going a lot more! Couldn't afford a season ticket this year, but like last season am aiming for 2 games a month at home, and a few away games.
