Teams are starting to get their pre-season training & friendlies underway, with Steelers & Devils already in week 2 of their pre-season camp. I was wondering what predictions people have for the coming season?
At the top, I see Steelers & Devils fighting for the title again. Nottingham seem a little underpowered and for some reason the Giants signings have felt underwhelming to me, although Saviano and Foster look very good and a duo of Whistle & Murphy could be a great advantage for them.
Coventry look to have improved this season, and I don't think they'll finish quite as low down this season as 15/16. This might pave the way for Braehead to make a title challenge, and I think they look a step ahead of the other Gardiner teams - a lot depends on Zajkowski as I don't think he'll be as solid as Holt last season.
Flyers seem difficult to read, they've got some Gardiner 'all-stars' in Brooks & Sisca, and Dingle, Stockton and Fox all scored plenty of goals last season and Thinel looks very good., however the rest of the team looks pretty mediocre on paper. Stars signings have looked a bit underwhelming as well, although they've retained some key players last season and Fallon looks like a good netminder. Caps look promising, but I think they'll lack a bit of scoring - hopefully they'll be strong all season.
Storm team looks pretty solid, with hopefully a big signing to round out the team. Slight question over Clemente, but I think we'll be stronger this season than last. Hopefully a 8 or 7th place finish and a playoff game.
